Stop-motion Showreel 2010 from Steve Warne on Vimeo.

At last, here's my latest showreel. It's mostly stuff from The Astronomer's Sun, Savage Mountain, bits and pieces of other college projects and a couple of Aardman tests thrown in for good measure.
Let me know what you think.

Savage Mountain was finally finished a few weeks ago. Here's a little teaser - an opening extract from the film:

Clouded from Steve Warne on Vimeo.

This is the result of some experiments on After Effects the other day. It's for a potential film project I'm brewing.

I was at the BAFTA Scotland New Talent Awards last week. Lions had a nomination in the music video category which it went on to not win. But on the bright side, we were beaten by another lion related video from Natalia Stuyk, an ECA animation graduate from last year . Much deserved if you ask me.

I've been busy getting the last few frames of Savage Mountain animated. That picture above proves it. And I've got a little installation project that I want to do in the next few weeks which should be ready for the ECA degree show. It's all happening.

Here's a few select pages from some sketchbooks and journals of mine. More creepy faces I'm afraid. I tend to just let my pen wander, as I suppose most do when doodling. I'm interested in form and I suspect I'm always subconciously refining which shapes work well together.

I love Miyazaki, just like everyone else. Here's a sculpt I did of the robot from 'Laputa' for a friend's birthday. It's made from Super Sculpy. I saw these models for sale on Ebay a while ago, but they were limited edition and massively expensive, so I thought I might as well make one myself. Not that I'm a cheapskate, mind you.

I made this 3D zoetrope I a few years ago, but I've just been thinking about returning to the technique for a future project. Hang on and I'll upload a video of it soon.

More to follow!
